Fairy Sweet Seven • Andrea's Seventh Birthday

Some birthday themes come and go, but fairy parties will forever have my heart! My niece Andrea just turned seven, and if you know our family, you know she's pretty special. She was the very first grandbaby and the only girl in our lineup of grandchildren. For the last two or three years, I've been begging her to let me throw her a girly birthday party. Every year she'd choose something else, but this year was finally the year we convinced her! It was time for her Fairy Sweet Seven Birthday Party!
The moment she said "fairy party," I was all in. Of course, I immediately started dreaming up ways to use every whimsical rental piece, oversized flower, backdrop, and magical detail in my collection. Did it require an enclosed trailer that my husband had to haul just to get everything to the venue? Yes. Yes, it did. But once we transformed The Willows at Lantern Lake into an enchanted fairy garden, every second of planning, crafting, loading, unloading, and setup was completely worth it.
From flowers and fairy-inspired activities to custom signage, desserts, sparkling backdrops, and thoughtful details around every corner, this party became everything I had hoped it would be. More than anything, I wanted Andrea to walk into the room and feel like she had stepped into her very own magical world.
I can't wait to share all the details with you in this post! This celebration was truly a labor of love, and I hope it serves as inspiration for your own themed party. Most of all, I hope it's a testament to just how much I love my niece! The amount of work that went into this birthday party was honestly a little insane, but I'd do every bit of it again tomorrow just to see that smile on her face and see her running around with her fairy friends!
• LITTLE FAIRY FLOWER CART •
One of my favorite details from Andrea's fairy party was the Little Fairy Flower Cart!
When planning this party, we knew we wanted guests to leave with something beautiful and interactive. We also love when a station doubles as decor and an activity to keep guests busy. We were thrilled to collaborate with Morning Dew Acres right here in Grayson County, Kentucky to fill our flower cart with fresh, locally grown blooms. Supporting another local small business while creating a magical experience for this party made this setup even more special.
Guests were invited to select stems from the flower stand and create their own mini fairy bouquet. Each bouquet was wrapped in the sweetest handled wraps, finished with custom fairy-themed stickers designed to match the party and tied with a pretty pastel ribbon.
To bring the entire display together, we customized the front of our white market cart with themed vinyl and used it to hold the bouquet wraps, pruning shears, and instruction sign. Our 12-bucket flower stand showcased all of the gorgeous blooms from Morning Dew Acres, creating a colorful garden-inspired display that felt straight out of a fairy tale. The best part? Every guest left with a beautiful bouquet and a special memory from Andrea's celebration.

• ADULT TABLES: GROWN UPS DESERVE PRETTY SETTTINGS TOO •
One thing you'll notice about the parties we style is that we don't just focus on the kids' tables. Parents, aunts, uncles, and friends are taking time out of their day to celebrate too, and we believe they deserve a beautiful place to gather!
For this celebration, we created gorgeous guest tables that felt elevated while still fitting perfectly within the whimsical fairy garden theme. Some tables featured soft pink linens while others showcased the sweetest green striped tablecloths. Event Envy was gracious enough to let us use their stunning tablecloths and pink striped napkins, and they truly helped bring the vision to life. I will forever love working with Event Envy and be envious of their collection of beautiful decor!
This party also gave us the perfect excuse to pull out some of our favorite rental pieces...our Giant Florals! Half of the tables featured our giant floral stems rising from floral bases, creating the illusion of guests dining in an enchanted fairy garden. The remaining tables featured our floral bases topped with oversized pink helium balloons finished with the cutest pink bows. The mix of heights and textures added visual interest throughout the room while keeping everything cohesive.
Of course, no table is complete without the details. Each place setting included our clear acrylic bead chargers, scalloped ivory disposable plates, gold flatware, vintage goblets, and pink striped cloth napkins. Together, they created a tablescape that felt playful and perfectly girly!
The result was a room full of tables that were just as magical as the rest of the party and proof that adult seating doesn't have to be an afterthought.

• MOCKTAIL STATION •
Now it's time to talk about the hit of the entire party. I know, you're probably surprised that it wasn't the flower cart or the wand-making station. It was the mocktail station.
And let me tell you why. The line for mocktails was long the entire party. Andrea's favorite drink is a Shirley Temple, so we thought it would be fun to build a custom mocktail station around that idea. We invited Mrs. Ramona to come serve drinks, and she absolutely knocked it out of the park. Guests could choose from three different drink options: Pixie Dust Punch, a Shirley Temple, or Lavender Lemonade.
What started as a fun little drink station quickly became one of the most talked-about parts of the entire celebration. Kids loved getting to order their own "fancy" drinks, and honestly, the adults were just as excited about it.
Of course, Mrs. Ramona went above and beyond. She brought extra syrups to create special blue "Tidal Wave" drinks for the boys, the cutest drink stirrers, fruits, and even edible glitter to make certain drinks sparkle. Every drink felt like its own little magical experience.
To tie everything together, we styled the station using our white bar and added custom vinyl panels that matched the rest of the party's branding and graphics. A custom mocktail menu sign, bar mats, and coordinating details helped the station feel intentional and cohesive with the overall design.
One tip if you're considering a mocktail station for your own event: use disposable cups with lids and straws. With custom branded stickers of course. It makes cleanup incredibly easy at the end of the party and helps prevent little hands from accidentally spilling their fancy drinks while they're off making fairy wands or collecting flowers.
All in all, we may never host another kid's party without Mrs. Ramona slinging Shirley Temples. The mocktail station was hands-down the fan favorite of the entire day, and watching guests line up for refills over and over again was proof that sometimes the simplest ideas end up making the biggest impact.
• ALL ABOUT THE LITTLE FAIRES •
If you've been around here for any length of time, you know one thing about me: I will not throw a kid's party without a picnic table for the kiddos. I've learned that expecting children to sit perfectly in chairs throughout a birthday party just isn't realistic. Kids want to move, gather with their friends, hop up for activities, and come back when they're ready. A floor picnic table gives them a space that feels comfortable, inviting, and made just for them.
For Andrea's celebration, we used three of our floor picnic tables to create one long fairy table. We surrounded the tables with pillows in soft pastel and mixed textures to match the party's whimsical color palette. The result felt cozy and perfect for a room full of fairy friends.
We also created a full tablescape for the kids. While we wanted the table to feel elevated, we also wanted cleanup to be easy for the parents. Everything was disposable except for the chargers. We paired our clear acrylic bead chargers with the cutest Meri Meri mushroom cake plates, fairy dinner plates, daisy napkins, disposable utensils, and cups with lids and straws. Each cup even featured a custom branded sticker that tied into the party's overall design, because it's me and everything has to be detailed.
The center of the table was filled with beautiful faux floral arrangements that Raye's Flowers created for us a few months ago. Reusing these florals was the perfect way to add softness and a garden-inspired feel while staying on theme.
To keep little hands busy, we also added custom fairy-themed coloring sheets and crayons throughout the table. It's a simple detail, but one that helps keep kids engaged and gives them something fun to enjoy between activities.
One of the biggest benefits of a dedicated kids' table is that it creates a space designed specifically for children while allowing parents to enjoy the celebration too. The kids have a place to gather with friends, eat, color, and chat, while the adults get to relax at their own tables and actually have adult conversations for a few minutes. It's a win for everyone.
If you're planning a children's party, a floor picnic table is one rental I will recommend every single time. The kids love it, the parents appreciate it, and it instantly creates a gathering space that feels special.

Wand Making Station
Every fairy needs a wand, right? One of the interactive activities we included was a DIY Wand Making Station. Each guest started with a wooden wand and got to customize it with gems, ribbons, pearls, stickers, and other sparkly embellishments.
What I loved most was that there were no rules. Some kiddos carefully planned every detail, while others piled on as much sparkle as possible. Both were equally perfect.
The setup was simple, just a designated station stocked with supplies where guests could stop by whenever they wanted. It kept little hands busy throughout the party and doubled as a take-home favor.
As a party planner, I love activities that serve more than one purpose, and this one checked every box. Each guest left with a wand they created themselves, and those are always my favorite kinds of keepsakes.
The Party Favor Corner: Wings, Swords, and Crowns
It's no secret that I'm a sucker for party favors, especially when it comes to kids' birthday parties. We created a dedicated party favor corner that felt like a little fairy boutique. Pastel fairy wings were displayed on the cutest little clothing rack with gold hangers, while foam swords for the boys were tucked into our wooden crates for easy grabbing. We also included the prettiest paper crowns from Meri Meri, finished with soft pink ribbons and displayed on our wooden coat racks. Not only were they a fun take-home gift, but they also doubled as decor and helped bring the fairy theme to life.
One of my favorite party planning tips is to make your favors part of the decor. It adds color, fills empty spaces, and creates an experience that feels thoughtful from start to finish.

• PHOTO BOOTH •
Okay, this just in: you know I'm a huge believer in having a photo booth at every celebration. Once a party gets going, people forget to take pictures. They forget to grab a photo with a friend they haven't seen in years or snap a picture with family before the day flies by. A photo booth makes it easy. Just step in front of it, smile, and you're done. But this time, we upgraded!
We used KM Events' photo booth with a printing option, and let me tell you, it was a HIT. I personally have never seen a photo booth used as much as this one was at Andrea's party. By the end of the celebration, over 50 photos had been printed! Guests loved being able to walk away with a physical keepsake from the party. KM Events even provided little white sleeves, and added the custom branded stickers to tie them into the rest of the party design.
To keep the setup luxe of course we placed the photo booth in front of our iridescent shimmer wall and added one of our giant florals beside it. It created the perfect magical backdrop while keeping this corner of the room feeling intentional. If you're considering a photo booth for your next event, this is your sign to add the printer option. Trust me, your guests will use it, love it, and leave with a keepsake they'll actually keep.

• BACKDROPS + BALLOONS •
One thing I always encourage clients to think about is decorating the entire space not just one wall.
At The Willows, we intentionally used backdrops throughout the venue so every corner felt designed and every area had a purpose. Our main focal point was the castle backdrop, placed in the center of the room where guests saw it the moment they walked in. It quickly became the heart of the party and is one of my favorite rentals for fairy, garden, or princess-themed celebrations. Paired with a grass rug and floral bases, it feels more like an experience than a backdrop.
At the entrance, we welcomed guests with a mini pink shimmer wall, balloons, and a custom birthday sign. It made for a fun little photo opt when arriving.
Then, in another corner of the venue, we created a dedicated photo booth area using our iridescent shimmer wall and giant florals to add height, sparkle, and movement.
We even used helium balloons throughout the room to draw the eye upward and take advantage of the venue's high ceilings.
The biggest takeaway? Balloons and backdrops are your best friends when it comes to making a venue feel fully decorated. And not every backdrop needs a huge balloon installation, a simple backdrop in the right place can make just as much impact.

• CAKE + FOOD •
When it comes to party food, I truly believe simple is often best. We let the cake be the star of the show and Bloom Bakery absolutely delivered. The soft green cake looked like it had been pulled straight from an enchanted fairy garden. Butterflies fluttered across the design while tiny pastel flowers in lavender, yellow, and blush added the sweetest whimsical touch. My favorite detail was the textured greenery around the top and bottom edges that mimicked moss and vines, making the entire cake feel like a magical woodland scene. It was elegant and perfectly on theme without feeling overdone.
Because the cake was such a statement piece, we kept the rest of the menu simple and approachable. Sam's Club came through for this menu! We served ham and turkey Hawaiian roll sandwiches, fresh berries, Sam’s Club’s premade kale and sun-dried tomato pasta salad, and an assortment of sweet treats including donuts, cupcakes, and chocolate croissants.
One of my favorite styling tricks was elevating everything on wooden crates and cake stands. It added height to the food table, made everything feel intentional, and tied in beautifully with the fairy garden aesthetic. Even simple Sam's Club items feel special when they're displayed thoughtfully!
The best part? Guests actually ate it. The Hawaiian roll sandwiches disappeared almost as quickly as we could put them out. Sometimes you've spent so much time planning the decor, activities, and details that the last thing you need is complicated food. A simple menu that looks beautiful, tastes great, and keeps everyone happy is always a win in my book.
• IT'S ALL IN THE DETAILS...OR BRANDING •
I will always shout this from the rooftops: if you want a birthday party, baby shower, wedding, or anniversary to feel elevated, you need a cohesive visual identity.
Pick a color palette. Pick a theme. Choose a font, a pattern, and a few key design elements and stick with them. Treat your event like a brand. The magic happens when guests start seeing those details repeated throughout the space.
For Andrea’s Fairy Sweet Seven, we carried the same colors, fonts, fairies, stars, and soft gingham pattern through everything. The invitations, stickers, signage, mocktail station, flower bar instructions, wand-making station, vinyl decals, and even the wraps for the flower bouquets all worked together. No single piece was over-the-top, but together they created an experience.
That’s what makes an event feel expensive. Not necessarily spending more money, just being intentional.
The best part? You can absolutely do this yourself. Canva is a great place to create a simple mood board and design coordinating signage, stickers, and print pieces. Then send everything off to print and suddenly your party feels custom and thoughtfully curated.
And if designing isn't your thing, that's where we come in. Through our sister company, Cultivating Culver, we can create everything from invitations and signage to stickers, vinyl decals, and custom print pieces. Since we design it, we can also coordinate printing and have everything ready to install on event day.
An elevated party doesn't have to be stressful. Sometimes it's simply the little details repeated throughout the room that make the biggest impact.
Can you picture your little fairy celebrating a birthday filled with fairy magic, whimsical details, and memories they'll talk about for years to come? Whether you're planning an intimate gathering or an elaborate themed celebration, the secret is creating moments that feel special and intentional.
From custom signage and interactive activities to stunning backdrops and thoughtful details, Andrea's Fairy Sweet Seven was proof that a cohesive theme can transform a party into an unforgettable experience.
This event was styled and coordinated by Cultivating Celebrations, LLC. If you're in Central Kentucky, we'd love to help bring your child's dream party to life. We also highly recommend the incredible local vendors featured throughout this post, whose talents helped make this celebration so magical. Ready to start planning? Let's create a celebration that's every bit as memorable as the milestone itself.
